My name is Warren Peterson and my journey in the technology industry started in 1979.  I spent about 15 years working for several different government entities where I wrote policies and producers for how to use computers, installed super computing platforms, engineered enterprise class networks, built call centers and debugged programs.

In 1995 I formed my first computer technical support/consulting company.  Since that time I have been in the trenches everyday cleaning up sick computers and helping my clients learn how to use their technology more productively.

I am often asked, “How many years of study has it taken to learn how to take care of these computers?”  The truth is I have studied for many years but the skills that are needed on a daily basis are really not complex or difficult to learn.

I often teach these skills to my clients so they can take care of the routine items themselves and in so doing safe money and time for their employers.  This knowledge extends into their home lives and as a result they seldom have problems they cannot handle themselves

I find it very offensive when I hear of how much technicians are charging people for basic support.  It is even worse when someone falls prey to a phishing scam or ransomware virus and has to pay hundreds of dollars to get their data back.  All of these expenses, and the stress that goes with them, can be avoided with just a little education.

Hence my motivation for creating DIY-Tech Training.  I am tired of meeting people who have been ripped off.  I want to give you the knowledge and teach you the skills so you will never have to worry about this again.  Even better I hope to empower you with the necessary tools to permit you to embrace and enjoy the new technology that is on the horizon.
